Once unstoppable, Airbnb is now widely used as temporary accommodation for travelers all around the world. However, new developments offer promise that this may soon alter. Vacation rental managers and owners are fighting back against Airbnb by promoting their own direct booking options. The skyrocketing rise of Airbnb

To add insult to injury, the platform’s policies frequently prioritize the company’s interests over those of the hosts, making the hosts feel helpless over their operations and increasing their desire for more independence.

This has led to a search for innovative marketing strategies by individuals in the holiday rental sector. More and more businesses are starting to use “book direct” advertising to avoid the hassle of dealing with a third-party booking platform like Airbnb. By advertising their properties on their own websites and using social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization, rental managers are aiming to establish direct contacts with potential guests and avoid hefty costs.


Benefits to making a direct reservation

Guests and hosts alike can save money by booking directly. Hosts can save money and have greater control over how their listings are promoted when they avoid using middleman sites. They may pay special attention to the needs of each client and develop meaningful relationships with regulars.

Booking directly with the owner or management team rather than a middleman (like a hotel) usually results in a more positive stay for guests. They may get their questions answered by the host without going through a third party, and they may even be able to find offers that aren’t available on other sites.

Although it may be too soon to determine if Airbnb is actually disintegrating, host dissatisfaction with the service’s fees and policies has led to an increase in “book direct” advertisements. Because managers and owners of vacation rentals increasingly value direct communication with visitors over using third-party services like Airbnb, a market shift could be on the horizon.
